Why Capri

An island best discovered with someone who knows it

Capri looks tiny on the map, yet most first-time visitors leave having seen only the crowded Piazzetta. The real island — the quiet lanes of Anacapri, the lemon-scented walk to the Arco Naturale, the perfect moment to sail past the Faraglioni when the light turns the sea electric blue — takes local knowledge to find.

Our guided tours of Capri are built around that knowledge. A licensed guide meets you at the port, the ferry crossing and island transport are already arranged, and your day flows from boat to belvedere without a single queue you didn't expect.

Whether you join a small-group day tour from Naples or Sorrento or book a fully private itinerary, you'll see more of Capri in one day than most visitors manage in two — and you'll actually enjoy the getting around.

The Tours Shared Way

Three reasons travellers choose a guided Capri tour

Zero Logistics

Ferries, funicular, island minibuses, boat departures — Capri runs on timetables that change with the season and the sea. We handle all of it, so your only job is to look around.

Licensed Local Guides

Every tour is led by a licensed guide who lives and works on the Bay of Naples. Stories of Roman emperors and 1950s film stars included; museum-voice monologues are not.

Small Groups Only

Capri's lanes are narrow and its viewpoints intimate. We keep groups small so you can hear your guide, take photos without a crowd, and ask all the questions you like.

Island Highlights

What you'll see on a Capri day tour

Every itinerary is shaped around the day's weather and your pace — these are the places our guests talk about long after the ferry home.

Faraglioni Boat Tour

Circle the island by sea and sail beneath the three legendary limestone stacks — through the natural arch of the Faraglione di Mezzo if the captain gives the nod. The classic Capri moment, best from the water.

A Day on Capri

How a guided Capri day tour unfolds

A relaxed rhythm, refined over thirteen seasons of island days. Times flex with ferries and weather — the flow stays the same.

08:30

Departure from Naples or Sorrento

Meet your guide at the port; tickets are already in hand. The hydrofoil crossing takes 25–50 minutes — Vesuvius behind you, Capri growing on the horizon.

10:00

Boat tour around the island

Grottoes, cliffs and the Faraglioni from sea level, with a stop at the Blue Grotto when conditions allow.

12:00

Capri town & the Gardens of Augustus

Funicular to the Piazzetta, a guided stroll through designer lanes and medieval alleys, then the famous gardens overlooking Via Krupp.

13:30

Free time for lunch

Your guide points you to trattorias locals actually use — ravioli capresi, lemon granita, a glass of Falanghina with a view.

15:00

Anacapri & Monte Solaro

Minibus up the cliff road to the island's peaceful upper town, Villa San Michele, and the chairlift to Capri's highest point.

17:30

Return ferry

Back to Marina Grande with time for a last gelato before the crossing home — sun-tired, salt-flecked, phone full.

Good to Know

Planning your visit to Capri

Best time to go

April–June and September–October offer warm seas and lighter crowds. July and August are gorgeous but busy — book early. Even winter has its charm, with the island almost to yourself.

Getting there

Ferries and hydrofoils run from Naples Molo Beverello (~50 min) and Sorrento (~25 min). On our tours, crossings are pre-arranged and your guide travels with you or meets you at Marina Grande.

What to bring

Comfortable shoes for stone lanes, a swimsuit in summer, sun protection, and a light layer for the boat. Leave the suitcase at your hotel — Capri rewards travelling light.

Accessibility & pace

The funicular and minibuses remove most of the climbing. Tell us about mobility needs when booking and we'll shape walking distances and rest stops around your group.

Questions

Capri guided tours — FAQ

Capri is reached by ferry or hydrofoil from Naples (Molo Beverello, about 50 minutes) or Sorrento (about 25 minutes). On our guided Capri tours we plan the crossing for you and your guide meets you at Marina Grande, so you never have to work out timetables on your own.

Whenever sea and tide conditions allow, the Blue Grotto can be included as part of the boat itinerary. Entry is by small rowing boat and depends on the weather on the day, so we always plan a stunning alternative along the coastline in case the grotto is closed.

A typical guided day tour of Capri lasts 8 to 9 hours door-to-door, including the ferry crossing, a boat trip around the island, free time in Capri town and a visit to Anacapri. Private itineraries can be made shorter or longer on request.

Yes — one day is enough to see the island's highlights with a guide. Departing from Naples or Sorrento in the morning, you can circle the island by boat, see the Faraglioni, ride up to Capri town, visit the Gardens of Augustus and still have time for Anacapri before the return ferry.

Large parts of Capri are walkable at an easy pace, and the funicular and minibuses remove most of the climbing. Tell us about any mobility needs when you book and we will shape the itinerary — boarding points, walking distances and rest stops — around your group.
